about

The first Marax cassette (C90) release, originally limited to 25 pieces, came in a handmade wooden crate that had to be pried open to get to the tape.

Re-release limited to 100 CDrs in 2003 on Crucial Blast

Tracks "Self Inflected Wound" "Dorment" & "Bedsores" were 1st attempts at noise, utilizing objects such as mics, screams, circular saws, distorted detuned bass guitars.

The other tracks are all creations birthed through the aid of my Tascam 414.

Enclosed with the cassette was an explanation sheet, here as follows:

"I just wanted to make up this sheet to help people who listen to this, understand more where I'm coming from. Granted, not all tracks have meaning; some are just for the pleasure of creating noise. All tracks are pretty much lo-fi recorded on a 4-track, except tracks indicated with *. These tracks are pre 4-track and it's just me with equipment and a hand held tape recorder. They are extremely raw and may tend to annoy."
